Laziness is contagious

Shippenmaker Thunderblocker Amber scored kinda low in the brewoff this year...
the judges said it contained too much shocker. epic.

we brewed a schwarzbier in honor of the Gears of War 3 release, I made this homage to it also.
it's sized just right for an iphone wallpaper, if you're into that sort of thing.

I posted these to the berrillmaker beer blog a while ago, and was too lazy to post them here...but...here are some more bottle designs I put together recently. I'm kinda suckin' lately.

Diplomanator

Bake and I brewed this pale ale in honor of his little sister graduating high school...which she can't drink. I designed these labels for it though.

la bĂȘte noire de cerise

my most recent beer label design for la bĂȘte noire de cerise.

we bottle conditioned this one, which left the bottles warm enough to get some good drips out of the black wax. I think this is one of my favorite designs yet.

Websitastic!

I've been playing with some new layouts for my blog, this is what I have so far for your viewing enjoyment...also, I'm currently working on a new site for Razzia Futbol Club. They are a non-profit organization/youth soccer club that helps make it possible for kids of all backgrounds and financial situations to participate in a competitive soccer league.

Elephant posters to the core.

snappy poster (by me) for the one and only elephant riders, I don't care if you don't like pink elephants by the way... check them out 3/4/11 @ the woodshed.

Who Will Show Album?

So here's the finished album from Who Will Show Mercy with artwork by me. There's a whole turning/spinning/not sure which way is up concept that started with the photo and I continued with the typography. Turned out pretty snazzy.

I really liked the type arrangement for the lyrics/credits page, it kind of looks like a seismograph reading.

Xmas beer finale!

all of the xmas beer Baker and I made for this year is DONE! the final batch to be bottled is called the reindeer hunter, a winter spiced imperial red ale which was commissioned by one of my coworkers. pretty proud of my label designs this year, I'll be sending them off to BYO for the annual label contest (hopefully get featured again).
one for the archives of course....

Holiday Beer

finished up 2 of the labels for our annual holiday beer: the peacemaker - vanilla bourbon imperial porter, and abominale snowman's revenge - winter spiced belgian ale.

had some silver wax from last year's abominale so we mixed that in to get the metallic red for this year. both were printed on 50% recycled paper, I always like the flecks in the stock and the soft texture. peacemaker got a scalloped edge on one side and a true red wax dip as an homage to our favorite kentucky bourbon which was added to the brew during fermentation. it also has a spot for the bottles to be hand numbered (only 22 were bottled). if anyone is curious, we named it "peacemaker" in reference to the movie "silver bullet," not to wyatt earp.

abominale back label
abominale got a back label for all my words, no bottle numbering, but it does reference the 24 bottle limited edition. should be a festive holiday with these around. check out the beer blog here berrillmaker.blogspot.com

Chupacabra Wedding Ale

Finished up the label design for some beer Baker and I brewed for a buddy's wedding coming up in October. It's got kind of a Day of the Dead theme to match their cake toppers. Tommy requested that I work their names and the wedding date into the design, and suggested calling it "chupacabra" which goes along with the monster/mythical creature vibe we use a lot in naming our brews. Also, it's an Oatmeal Cookie Amber Ale- how could anything be more fitting? here's the finished product...

Friday Night Wrist

Some friends of mine are playing a Deftones tribute show in August and asked me to put together a flyer. Still working out a few details, but here it is so far. All proceeds from this show will help the family of Chi Cheng (Deftones bassist) who was seriously injured in a car accident in 2008.

Dadmaker Father's Day Beer

I got inspired to make some labels for the beer I'm giving my Dads for Father's Day tomorrow. It's all about being manly. Check it.

The clear sticker paper was kind of hard to stick to the bottles, but the finished product turned out alright.

New BYO issue out now

The new issue of BYO is available now. My design for The Abomin-Ale Snowman won bronze in the annual label design contest, and is featured on pg.33. Baker picked up a couple copies at The Beer Nut along with the ingredients for our latest batch of home brew (check that out here).
